Here is the list of my top 5 Philippine Destinations (as of November 2012).
1. Sagada, Mt. Province (Cordillera Administrative Region)
Dubbed as the Shangri-La of the north, Sagada in Mountain Province has this unexplainable enchanting feel that embraces every visitor where you can have an intimate encounter with nature at its finest. One should not leave Sagada without trying the Lumiang Cave-Sumaguing Cave connection, trek to Marlboro Mountain and Kiltepan peak where you’ll experience being above the clouds and visits to Bomod-Ok and Pongas Falls. Experience their culture through various rites and paying tribute in their hanging coffins and cave burials, and have a taste of their unique foods such as pinikpikan, etag, lemon pie and its local youghurt. As the locals say, “Pag nagpunta ka sa Sagada, babalik-balikan mo talaga”. Sagada is definitely a paradise where you can all experience nature, culture at adventure at their best. A side trip to Banaue Rice Terraces can also be done on your way to this top destination which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
2. Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan (Western Visayas)
Boracay Island in Aklan never fails to wow its visitors through its powdery white sand and pristine beaches. The place can practically offer you everything from places to dine that offers fresh sea foods at very low prices, party, up to the various water, land and air activities. During the day, you can do island hopping, snorkeling, cliff diving, helmet diving, parasailing, ATV, zorb, zip lines, banana boat and fly fish rides, paraw sailing or watching and a lot more. At night, you can go clubbing, watch fire dancers or just walk by the seashore while listening to relaxing music. No doubt, Boracay Island has been named a lot of times by various travel magazines and shows as the world’s best beach destination.
